Reflect on the work that we have done as a team using the Y framework, What does Tataiako Look like, Feel like and Sound like? How will this influence your future practice?

Have the diagram of the competencies of Tataiako visible as a reminder for you when documenting children’s learning and this may also help you continuing to develop deeper understandings of the cultural competencies.

Attend the TRCC conference on Tataiako to strengthen your understandings further.

IPad advice from Donna at Papakura West Kindergarten 19 July 2016

Today I was able to get some fresh advice on using my iPad in areas where I had struck problems. I took my IPad to the staff hui and approached Donna for some advice. She was able to show me how to get the top writing off my pages layouts when I go to upload them onto Story Park. This had been a frustration for quite some time and Donna’s tips made it look so easy. She also shared with me a couple of techniques as to how to upload on to Story Park and how to down load movies to put onto a USB stick. I am looking forward to trying out her techniques once back after term break, she also showed me apps that she uses regularly.

Creating a Learning Story using my ipad

Which criteria does this evidence?            Why does this evidence this criterion? How has does this show that your practice has changed/improved? I have been struggling to incorporate the ipad into my daily recording of children’s learning. I have begun experimenting with different apps already on my ipad and have managed to create a story using ‘pages’ and using a poster template. I was happy with the end product and think with time and practice this could be a very useful tool which could help me record learning as it happens and have it published to storypark quickly. I was stuck as to how to print it to our kindergarten printer but by problem solving with my colleagues I was able to work it out for myself! My next dilemma was trying to up load it onto storypark…frustrating but once again brain storming with others helped and now it is there! I feel through this experience it has given me greater confidence when using my ipad and I felt I was able to share what I had learnt with my colleagues.

Creating an imovie

Which criteria does this evidence?          Why does this evidence this criterion? How has does this show that your practice has changed/improved? I have begun to experiment in making a multimedia presentation using my ipad. I have tried using imovie and have developed a short film on Toni painting a butterfly, it incorporated movie, photos and a voice recording of Toni describing her picture. This movie was shared with Toni’s Mum once completed and I received some great feedback as to how I managed to capture time laps photos into a slide show type layout. I now need to work out how to share this with Toni’s family by making a copy. This is what I will be working on next.
